by NOEL COWARD

Produced by JIM LESLIE

Performed in January 1966

By now membership of the Valley Players had climbed to the dizzy heights of almost forty and for their second production they chose this whimsical but ever popular comedy.

A novelist, Charles Condomine, is plagued by the ghost of his first wife, Elvira.  His second wife doesn't believe himonly Charles can see Elviraand calls in an eccentric medium, Madame Arcarti, to prove her existence.

Jim told the Blyth News that he was "delighted at the response" to their first effort and for this production a third night, the Thursday, was added to the Tuesday and the Wednesday performances, a pattern which has been maintained by the group ever since.

The reviewer, E. Reavley, was even more effusive with his (or her?) praise this time:

"Their staging of this light, almost ephemeral, play ranks as an eminently successful second production... If they carry on improving at this rate, Chekhov or Ibsen will be a walk-over in a couple of years."

Now there's a thought...
