Nobody's Perfect by SIMON WILLIAMS Produced by JACKIE DAWSON Performed in April 2004 |

Leonard is a frustrated novelist who finds that the only way to get his work published is by pretending to be a woman, using the pen name of Myrtle Banbury. But Leonard's publisher, the feminist Harriet, insists on meeting Myrtle face to face to discuss terms. Can Leonard convince Harriet that he really is a woman? And how far can he trust his partners in crime, namely his streetwise daughter Dee Dee and his roguish father Gus, the Don Juan of the local day centre, not to blow his cover? Nobody's Perfect proved a very technically challenging play to do, but with a fast moving and witty script, and sparkling performances from some new faces (and one of the old guard!) it was the perfect way to bring the season to a close. |
